Rowan O. Georges, AIA
Rowan lends his experience of over 25 years to the AGMCC board, and he appreciates that both the AGMT and NACC programs are informed by a cross-section of the industry.
Rowan leads SOM’s specifications group with a strong belief in the benefits of collaborative practice. He manages firmwide specifications and a team of writers supporting projects across the country and around the globe. After beginning his career as an architect, Rowan shifted to specifications, where he has been on the front end of documenting design execution and quality management for projects of varying scales and typologies. His unique perspective witnessing projects from conception through construction amplifies his vocal advocacy for installation quality.
Rowan is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), and National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB), for which he has participated in accreditation visits for a number of universities. He has volunteered with Voice for the Poor International, Inc. since 2002. A native of Trinidad and Tobago, Rowan moved to New York for architecture school, where he met and married his college sweetheart. The two share a teenage son and a love of traveling and community service.
