Kenneth Potter

Software Developer

Ken develops custom applications and manages in-house software across all of the AMS certification programs. His many hats include software architect, business analyst, developer, and mentor to a team of junior developers.

Equally adept at identifying solutions to data challenges and working with teams to understand their needs, Ken conceptualizes and makes possible all of the behind-the-scenes technology to power the certification process. Before joining AMS, he spent over 20 years as a software developer for a technical services company, including 10 years as a consultant to AMS.

Ken is married with two grown daughters and one son. Whether designing programs or in his personal life, Ken appreciates the Zen exercise of establishing order, cleanliness, and purpose. When he bought and began restoring a 1973 Datsun 240Z two decades ago, he met other like-minded car owners. That turned into membership, and now the role of treasurer, with the Z Association of Central New York (ZACNY) car club. He also enjoys hiking, snowshoeing, Star Wars, and cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles.

“I’m focused on improving the functionality of the software both for our staff and for the CIP users. I try to make tools that are useful and intuitive and to make the process as pain-free as possible.”
