Brian Stiens

AGMT Proctor/Examiner

In his role with AGMT, Brian encourages glaziers to take advantage of every opportunity, especially certification.

A third-generation glazier and retired member of Local Union 513 in Saint Louis, Brian worked from 1980 until 2016 and served as financial secretary for 25 years. Brian jokes that he ‘couldn’t even read a tape measure at first,’ but was fortunate to begin his career with a company that taught him the entire trade – from glazing in the field to estimating in the office. As an AGMT Proctor/Examiner, Brian appreciates the chance to network with glaziers and representatives from across the country to discuss the industry and how it can continue to be improved.

Brian has been involved with Rebuilding Together St. Louis since 2004; the organization composed of union tradespeople gives back to the community by sharing their skills with neighbors in need. He serves on the executive board of the local Democrat club, supports several candidates as treasurer, and even took a run for State Representative in 2016. The father of four adult children enjoys visiting his favorite city, Las Vegas, and watching football.

“The AGMT test isn’t hard but it’s fair. It applies to union and non-union alike, and it’s something you should be proud to earn.”
