Wayne Daigle

A second-generation glazier, longtime glazing instructor, and coordinator, Wayne brings his passions for quality craftsmanship and the value of doing work right to his role as an AGMT proctor/examiner.

Wayne followed his father and uncle into the glazing trade, building a 17-year career as a respected glazier and foreman. On his dad’s advice to ‘always share what you have with someone else,’ Wayne began teaching part-time at the Finishing Trades Institute of Southern New England in 2002. He parlayed this into a second career as a health & safety and glazing coordinator with FTI, where he spent another 15 years. He has taught all four years of the glazing apprentice program, earned most of the industry’s training or trainer credentials, and established himself as a subject matter expert with the National Glass Association. After retiring from FTI, Wayne knew he had more to share, and he joined the AGMT team. He appreciates how AGMT instills confidence and credibility in glaziers, and he genuinely enjoys putting test candidates at ease and encouraging them through the process.

Wayne has been a member of Glaziers Local Unions 1333 and 1339 since 1985. A past executive board member and treasurer of LU1339, he also served as IUPAT District Council 11 delegate for over a decade. Today he enjoys partial retirement and time spent with his wife, daughter, and three grandchildren. You can find him tinkering around the house (family calls him Mr. Fix-It), restoring and selling old cars, fishing, camping, and vacationing.
