David Jenness

AGMT Proctor/Examiner

A self-proclaimed jack-of-all trades, David administers the AGMT performance-based test and puts his construction skills to use building and continuously maintaining the AGMT test rigs.

He’s the person tasked with replacing parts, coordinating shipping to locations across the country, and keeping the rigs in consistent, top condition for every new group of test-taking candidates. He also helps build rapid assessment chambers and test units for other AMS certification programs. David enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard after high school and gained electronics and telephony training during his service. After brief stints in an electronics shop and as a part-time reserve police officer, David joined TDS Telecom for a 33-year career. He served as a network specialist while also performing line construction and installations. After retirement, he was encouraged to join the AGMT program by his daughter, who also works at AMS.

Outside of work, David enjoys deer hunting, riding his motorcycle through the Adirondacks, and taking opportunities to travel. He has two adult daughters and two young grandsons with whom he spends much of his free time.

“AGMT certification validates that candidates are qualified and experienced to do their jobs. And it instills a sense of pride that you’ve passed and are one of the best at what you do.”
